Engineered Warp Knit & CORDURA® Ballistic Nylon Upper
The forefoot is constructed using an engineered warp knit technology which provides a seamless one piece vamp and toe cap while offering areas of reinforced strength and other areas of breathability and flexibility. The lace area, midfoot and heel is made from two panels of CORDURA® Ballistic Nylon — offering the toughest Special Forces grade abrasion resistance against the stresses of rope climbs. This CORDURA® also provides superior midfoot and heel support during dynamic movements.

Anatomically Molded TPU Heel Counter
Anchors your foot with a supportive, injection molded heel counter that stabilizes your heel when you're doing dynamic, load bearing exercises.

Lace-Lock Eyelets
Extra top eyelets can be used to create a tight heel lock — commonly called a runner's loop or lock lace — that prevents heel slippage and excessive movement around the ankle.

Wide Toe Box
Generous forefoot area lets your toes breathe. Over time and distance doing the work at the gym or anywhere you're training, your feet will swell. This extra space, along with the breathable and flexible knit, reduces the friction that can occur if your feet rub against the insides of your shoe.

Custom High Density Insert
Dense, PU foam insert custom made to fit the contours of the foot supporting all three (3) arches of the foot — yes, you have three arches in your foot (the medial longitudinal arch, the lateral longitudinal arch and the anterior transverse arch).

Versatile Heel-to-Toe Drop
Classic powerlifting shoes have a 20mm+ heel-to-toe drop (and meant for nothing else), running shoes are all over the place (according to the latest fad), other functional fitness trainers and some weight training shoes are 4mm (and you can't wait to take them off after the WOD), Chuck T's are zero drop (and painful over all the miles). The 8mm heel-to-toe drop in the Ballistic Trainers™ creates the best biomechanical advantage when lifting heavy loads (squat, clean, snatch) or moving more than 400 meters (running or rucking).

Gradient Density™ EVA Midsole
Two (2) different types of EVA fused together in a smooth gradient from forefoot to heel. High rebound, high flexibility EVA in the forefoot provides cushion and support for explosive movement. Firm, stable EVA in the heel provides a stable platform to keep you grounded when lifting or squatting.

Triple Compound Rubber Outsole
Three (3) different rubber compounds form a single, seamless rubber outsole. Forefoot rubber is formulated for increased grip while the heel area is dense and won't wear down after miles of running or rucking. The midfoot is formulated from a rock climbing compound and hardened for exceptional abrasion resistance — ideal for rope climbs.

Care Instructions: Remove insert. Hose them down thoroughly and let air dry (won't take long). Do not use washer/dryer - it's easier this way.

LIGHTWEIGHT KNIT + REINFORCED TPU UPPER
100% polyester knit constructed with the strength and durability to thrive in unforgiving environments. At 230 g/sqm, it's lightweight and fast drying. High-wear areas are reinforced with a protective TPU film. We targeted the toe area for abrasion resistance and the midfoot to heel area for additional lockdown support.

PROTECTIVE TOE CAP
No stubbed toes from craggy rocks or rogue sticks on the trail. A dual layered toe cap provides extra protection and abrasion resistance across the toes. Reinforced bonding to the rubber outsole's toe bumper results in better long term durability after miles of abusive terrain.

IDEAL RUCKING OFFSET
The ideal heel-to-toe drop for rucking. 13mm offset reduces the strain on your achilles (and by proxy your ankle, knees, and hips) and helps to accommodate a natural gait in an unnatural world of asphalt and man-made surfaces.

WIDE TOE BOX

Comfortable PU foam bolsters lock in the heel to prevent slippage and excessive movement around the ankle. This allows you to secure your heel into the shoe without relying on lace-locking or lacing too tightly.

3MM SPEED LACES
3mm as opposed to standard 5mm, just like MACV-2™. Debris and mud doesn't collect on the 3mm laces like it does on the 5mm, the 3mm rinse off and dry faster, and they're faster to tie because there's less bulk.

Two of the toughest performance fabrics meet to make the Indestructible Performance Half Zip. The jacket combines the lightweight, hi-tech warmth of the Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric and the abrasion resistance of our ToughDry® Fabric.

The patented grid construction knit of the Grid Fleece strengthens performance efficiency by increasing warmth and breathability, while also reducing fabric mass. These geometric patterns improve compressibility, sweat-wicking, and add technical style. By reinventing thermal warmth possibilities, Power Grid™ is a minimalist design that maximizes fabric performance.

The elbows and shoulders of the indestructible jacket are reinforced with our ToughDry® fabric that is built with Nylon for added abrasion resistance during low crawls and underneath your ruck. If rain, sweat, streams, gets in a waterproof boot there is nowhere for it to go. Shielding drain holes are better than waterproof. They keep sand and debris out and repel moisture with every step. They expel water with old fashioned technology that just works - with every step, you push the water out the side of the boot.

Fifty-one years ago I was issued jungle boots by the U.S. Army during my first tour in Vietnam. I didn’t know much about their history, just that they seemed a bit strange, as I was used to wearing all-leather civilian hunting and military combat boots and these “jungle boots” were black leather and green canvas. Jungle boots were first adopted around 1942 for use by Army and Marine troops who were operating in tropical and jungle environments including the Philippines, New Guinea, and Indochina.

Since their inception, jungle boots have undergone multiple incarnations - moving to a Panama Sole that better sheds heavy mud; adding steel plates to prevent injuries from punji stick traps; changing the canvas tops to nylon; and replacing the normal insoles with removable ones that provided better ventilation.

While each modification added to the utility of the boots (and by the way, they became my favorites) the GORUCK MACV-1's have far exceeded any of the boots I’ve worn in the past. They’re more comfortable, lighter weight, and more supportive than I expected. They weigh about as much a pair of trail running shoes and are ergonomically designed to better support my feet and ankles. Break-in is virtually non-existent, the insole conforms and supports the foot, and the drain holes really do their job.

The MACV-1 Origins Edition in Black and Military Olive is a nod to the heritage of early jungle boots and those who have passed this way. They look good, feel better, and just work.

We spent three years developing the ultimate combination of compression, moisture wicking and comfort that would live up to our GORUCK standards. Built from the ground up, these compression shorts combine a 240 gram fabric that provides just the right amount of compression with a 100 gram grid mesh that enhances breathability in all the right places. A custom jacquard elastic waistband completes the style with additional quality and comfort. Built to handle your toughest workouts and replace your daily boxer briefs, keeping the chafe away.

We built the Rough Runner® to be lightweight and good for high mileage, on a modern running platform. You’ll recognize this in a comfortable fit, but these are not just normal running shoes. In Special Forces, we would run our asses off on pavement and on tank trails and then get to the physical training — push, pull, carry, drag and roll around in dirt fields with weight and slick. Simply running in a straight line is not enough for our way of life and we needed more versatility to do all the things. This is the inspiration for the Rough Runner®.

When the operational environment or date night calls for a collar, we wanted the same trusted Tri-BlendX fabric as our beloved GORUCK t-shirts, the ones we have dozens of on our shelves. Tri-BlendX is anti-stink, soft, and tough as nails — proven at thousands of GORUCK Events since 2010. The collar really classes it up.
